Salt Dough Decorations

You know how most crafty things start out being fun because its something new and then ends up a tad tedious? Hence the many things alot of people call WIPS...

Well...Manaia and I started these Salt Dough Decorations about 2 weeks ago and we only just got around to painting them. They turned out to be really great and original, the perfect decoration for our Xmas tree (fake of course...) The painting part was the most fun :D 3 years old have so much imagination.

The Recipe to make Salt Dough Decorations:

1 cup Salt
1 cup Flour
1/2 cup water (may need more or less so dont add it all at once)

Combine and knead on a floured surface until it forms a nice soft dough.
Roll out to desired thickness, cut out your favourite shapes and dont forget to poke a hole in them with a straw so you can hang them on your tree :)
Then line a baking tray with tinfoil and bake them for 10mins at 180 degrees.
Leave on the tray in a warm area for upto 3 days (turn daily) until shapes are nice and hard.
Then paint and enjoy :)
